Varsity Head Coach – Ed Zubey
Coach Zubey graduated from De La Salle High School in Concord, CA. During coach Zubey’s four years at De La Salle, they never lost a game. Coach Zubey also attended Los Medanos JC in Pittsburg, CA and Arizona State University were he played linebacker in the ’97 Sun Bowl. Coach Zubey has in excess of ten years coaching experience. Prior to becoming the Higley’s Head Coach, he was a graduate assistant offensive line coach at Arizona State University, as well as the Head Coach at Westwood High in Mesa, AZ and St. Marys in Phoenix, AZ.
Junior Varsity Head Coach – Glenn Adams
Coach Glen Adams is a 3rd generation native Arizonan who grew up in Tempe AZ. At Corona del Sol high school I played football, track (throws) and competed in powerlifting. I owned a small sport training gym, been a PE teacher, general contractor , and currently teach health and PE in HS. I am most proud of my 5 beautiful and athletic children and thankful for my patient wife . Truly passionate about being the strength and conditioning and jv line coach , especially with a staff of such good friends.Besides watching my own kids I also enjoy hunting, playing drums in a rock band,throwing heavy objects while wearing a kilt and of course, working out.

In 2010 joined Higley staff as assistant coach for Freshman and Varsity.
I don’t believe in team motivation. I believe in getting a team prepared so it knows it will have the necessary confidence when it steps on a field and be prepared to play a good game.

Cauley Clark
This is Coach Clark’s 8th year coaching football at Higley High School. The previous 7 years were spent as the head freshmen football coach. Coach Clark is excited to be a part of the JV coaching staff this year.
Coach Clark played football for Dobson High School and played Linebacker for Ricks College.
Kim Hoke
Coach Hoke graduated from Casa Grande High School with five state titles, 2 in discus and 3 in shot put. She went to Jr. College at Glendale Community College on track scholarship for two years then transferred to Lewis University on another track scholarship. She played Woman’s Professional Football for nine years, five years for the Arizona Caliente, three years for the Phoenix Prowlers and one year Arizona Assassins. She retired from playing last year. She has coached 5 years jr. high football at the Coolidge Unified school district, 1 year jr. high football at Mesa Prep, 4 years flag football at Chaparral Elementary in Higley, 1 year Pop Warner, 1 year High School at Mesa Prep varsity team, and this is her first year at Higley High School coaching offensive and defensive line.
Ted Horn
Coach Horn has been a teacher and football coach at Higley High School since 2005. He has been fortunate to work with many outstanding students, athletes and coaches during this time. Prior to coaching at HHS, he coached at Coolidge HS. Between both programs, he has had the opportunity to coach in 4 state championships, 3 semi-finals, and an all-star game. He looks forward to continued success at HHS. Go Knights!
Terrance Johnson

Travis Johnson
This will be Coach Johnson’s 9th year coaching at Higley. Coach has been working with the young men on JV for all of that time. In the 8 years previous the JV program has never had a losing season. The JV young men have had 3 undefeated seasons. This year Coach Johnson is the the Offensive Coordinator on JV and am also the Quarter Backs Coach for both the Varsity and JV. Football is the greatest sport on the planet.

Ardell Scott
Coach Scott graduated from Eastmoor High school in 1979 with a 2 year letter in football and 1 year for track. Attended Hartnell Junior College from 1979 to 1980, making all conference as a free safety both years. Received a scholarship to play at Arizona State University from 1981 to 1983. Play safety the first year, running back the second year and full back the last year
-Asst Coach at Phoenix Christian for 2 year coaching defensive backs
-Asst. Coach for Pop Warner for 5 years coaching wide receiver and defensive backs
-Asst. Coach for Higley high school the last 2 years coaching wide receiver and defensive backs
Jason Sixkiller
Coach Sixkiller graduated in 1996 from Selah High School in Washington state. He Attended University of Washington and Arizona State University where he received a bachelors in Civil Engineering and a Masters in Education. He has taught at Higley for one year in which he teaches math and engineering. Coach Sixkiller is the freshman QB coach and offensive coordinator. He is very excited to be a part of the Higley Football program.
Jimmy Verdon
Verdon is a 2004 graduate of Arizona State University he was a second-team All-PAC 10 performer for the Sun Devils in 2004 and an honorable mention All-League performer in 2002. He was a co-captain of the 2004 ASU squad. He was the MVP of the defense and the defensive line in 2004. He earned four varsity football letters.
Verdon was a seventh-round draft choice of the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League in 2005 and was with the Saints in 2005-06, the Cincinnati Bengals in 2007 and was a member of the Saskatchewan Rough Riders of the Canadian Football League in 2008.
A native of Pomona, Calif., Verdon was named first-team All-State and was an honorable mention All-American as a football player. He also lettered in basketball and track at Pomona High School.
Verdon and his wife, Frances, have three sons, Malik, Gabe and Trey, and a daughter, Cecelia.
